Prisoner in London

Last full day in London begins with preparations for tomorrows flight. I drank all the coffee left in the room first of all, then went to the desk and asked if there was any shopping located close to the hotel. He mentioned a Mc Donald's down the street, so I headed that way and decided while there I might as well get an egg Mc Muffin. After enjoying a tast of home again I stopped at the service station next door to look in the little convenience store to see what was available. I looked at EVERYTHING on the shelves...sure they thought I must be up to no good, but finally decided to a couple of diet cokes, a 4-pack of Bud, bag of cashews and a pack of gum. Thirteen pounds....TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS!!! Oh well, small price to pay for daily sustenance while confined to my room.

Once back at the hotel I completed my daily email checks and contacts, watched a little TV, napped a bit, repacked the bags (I'm sure they'll charge me for overweight bag), and checked out the flight details for tomorrow. Then I went to the Virgin site and completed my 'on line check in'. I can't imagine that will really help me any with the situation as it is, but did it anyway.
I guess it's just as well I had planned to remain confined to the hotel anyway, seems as though they picked today to stage a rail strike in London so most of the trains on the southwest side of town are shut down anyway. So I just kept up with local happenings and Bush's attempt to tell the people of New Orleans how well the government had responded.
Finally got to trim my hair a bit too..first place I've been that I was able to recharge the razor, so showered, shaved, and got myself ready for dinner. It was raining outside (on top of all the other reasons to stay in) so I headed to the hotel restaurant and had a club sandwich for dinner. Heck of a deal for only $18. Oh well, when in London.......
Once back in the room completed preparations for tomorrow..laid out my wardrobe for the trip (blue or yellow) and tuned into BBC for the evening. Seems as though I'll be able to take the laptop onboard the plane so will try to continue the updates as i cross the Atlantic, and next report will come to you from New York - New York....can't you just hear the song!!!!!
